Dimka and Patches

Dimka and Patches are our mascots. Purebred Siberian strays, we've raised them from kittenhood and dragged them around the globe. They spend most of their time either sleeping, begging to be petted, or irritating each other. They are currently staying with us in Georgia, where they are enjoying the warm weather. The cats have their own photo album on our site, so if you're looking to get a severe cuteness attack, that's as good a place as any.

Patches is the white one with brownish patches of fur (hence his name). We found him in a stairwell in a Yakutsk apartment building, brought him home, and cleaned him up. He's much bigger (and healthier) now. Patches is the grumpy uncle of the two; he generally wanders around with a bored look on his face, punctuated with occasional sessions of picking on Dimka. Patches is surprisingly the more affectionate of the two; he will often crawl up in someone's lap as long as he can convince them that cuddling was his idea and not theirs.

Dimka means "smoky" in Russian, referring to the color of her fur and the way she slinks around. She's younger than Patches by a couple years and much livelier; she has yet to learn that no-one ever catches the laser pointer dot (among other things). Dimka thinks she's a princess and loves to run around when it's windy outside. She refuses to eat from a bowl, preferring her food fresh off the linoleum. She loves to explore and has made good friends with our neighbors.
